Permanent outdoor lighting · Homeowner buying guide

Choosing the best permanent outdoor lights for your home.

Start with the light you want every evening, the rooflines you want covered and the finish you will see during the day. Then compare the complete system, installation and support.

First, choose the lighting job.

Permanent roofline lights outline gables, porches and roof edges, with everyday white or seasonal colors. They serve a different purpose from pathway and landscape lighting. If you want to illuminate a walkway or a particular part of your garden, include that goal in your plan rather than judging roofline lights by color choices alone.

For a year-round roofline system, look at a white-light photograph as well as a colorful display. Ask to see the daytime mounting finish, the wiring route and the support terms. A useful comparison includes the whole installed package.

EverGlow: 72 puck lights in a 100ft kit.

Compare the number of complete light pucks as well as the number of LEDs inside each puck. EverGlow's 100ft kit contains 72 puck lights, each with one color-changing LED package and six dedicated white LEDs.

That is 12 more light points—a 20% increase in puck count—than a 60-light 100ft kit, including the Govee Pro H706A and eufy E120 models listed below.

Counts apply to the named 100ft kits and vary by model. Other systems, including eufy S4, also have 72 lights. This compares light-point count; it does not establish a brightness or overall performance advantage. Your installation quote confirms the selected kit, final coverage, cuts and connection layout.

Compare the total cost and coverage.

A DIY kit price and a professionally installed quote can include different things. Check lights, controllers, power supplies, extensions, tracking, labor, app setup and follow-up service before comparing totals.

With EverGlow, you can compare front-only coverage, the front and sides, or a broader exterior layout. Roofline length, height, access and the selected mounting finish affect your estimate. Ask for each option in writing so you can choose an affordable scope for your home.

Your permanent lights can provide Christmas and holiday colors, Halloween scenes and everyday white lighting from the same installed system. PayPal and Afterpay options may be available to eligible customers; provider approval and checkout terms apply.
